Breakfast, lunch & Hydration

New York City Heatwave

It was an action packed weekend, we went out to Little Island, dinner, and to Coney Island. NYC is still going through a heatwave, our apartment is heating up as I’m typing.

We enjoyed burgers, beers, fries, bbq, and drinks, come Monday, I had to pay for it. The delicious, salty, greasy foods and drinks have gotten me feeling heavy, sluggish, and bloated!

The effects of bad eating can be felt and worse in some ways than actual hangovers.

It’s an uncomfortable feeling, I struggled to make it to Muay Thai last night but I’m glad I did.

I initially wanted to lift and do bag work, but joined class once the team started warming up. I felt so much better once I had a sweat going, my muscled warmed up for full range striking.

I felt great, I also stayed 15 mins after class to drill some of the techniques we learned. We did strikes and long guard today.

To balance out my body and mind, I’m trying out a new breakfast and lunch regiment. To stay optimal, I’m considering enjoying fried foods and drinks on a very rare occasions.

For breakfast I’ll have

  • 1/2 Green Smoothie
  • 1 Coffee (cafe du mond)
  • protein shake (2 scoops, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup Lactaid milk, 2 oz frozen berries)
  • 1 Large cup of water (8oz)

Theres a lot of liquid going on, we’ll see if this helps keep my nutrition and water in balance.

Liquid Style AM Diet

I don’t know the nutritional content yet, but as I’m writing this, I may cut back the carbs. The other 1/2 of the green smoothie will be for dinner. Portioning out the green smoothie may help keep my digestion in balance.

This new liquid style diet may also help me stay light on my feet throughout the day, we’ll see if this help keep down any digestion or bloating issues from eating heavier solid salty/carb/protein meals.
